General short description of the innovation
The 2011 4th revision of the federal law on unemployment insurance-LACI has redefined the notion of suitable employment for young unemployed under 30 years old. Those unemployed can now be forced to accept jobs that do not match their educational level and previous work experience if required by the PES.

The objective of this measure was to encourage young people to take up work as early as possible, in order to, at the aggregate level, reduce youth unemployment, which was persistently higher than the average unemployment rate in the 2000s.
