Obligation for employer to notify vacancy to the public employment office abolishes

Country of implementation
Sweden
General short description of the innovation
One reason for the earlier obligation was that it should be easier for the unemployed to have one place where all vacancies are gathered. However, the obligation to notify vacancies to the PES has in practice not been complied to the extent desired. / / Furthermore, as the government argued the labor market and the contacts between job seekers and employers have changed since the obligation to notify the vacancy to the public employment service were introduced. This is partly due to the development of the Internet and the repeal of the prohibition on private employment services. The development of the Internet has made it possible for employers to directly use various databases and other actors such as staffing companies and private employment agencies have developed networks and databases of jobseekers. Employers can get in touch with jobseekers today without advertising and the majority of today's appointments to vacancies is by direct contact between job seekers and employers (Government Bill 2006/07:89). /
