Active labour market policies aiming at the promotion of apprenticeship training for young people used / to end at the age of 25 (common European definition of ‰youthˇ). However, some youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds mature only later so that they would be able to obtain a vocational degree. Against the background of demographic ageing and latent skills shortages, the programme aims at tapping this potential by training young adults for a full or partial vocational degree.

According to a recent press release, the drop-out rate from the programme is 36 / per cent.
